Equivalent Grade : 100 Cr 6 ; ISO 683-17, TYPE ;1999 STEEL TYPE B 1; EN 10027-2 1.3505, ASTM A 295-98 52100; JIS SUJ 2.
The process route is designed to focus on the steel refining quality,fully killed with Oxygen content less than 10 PPM generally.

Applications :
The steel is manufactured thro Route –EAF-LF-VD-Continuous Cast blooms –rolled in bars—spheroidised annealed—straightened—surface defect inspection & internal defect detection/rectification.
The bars used for forgings / machining Bearing races –under approval of SKF Bearings India Ltd.

Workability :
Forging-Hot working temp 1150 to 1180 deg C. ,subsequently spheroidised annealed
And machined in to races.
A good spheroidised microstructure controlled to CG 2.0 to 2.3,PA 3.1 max CZ 7.4 max as per Stahl –Eisen-Prufblatt 1520-98

Hardness 170 to 210 BHN.

Heat-treatment :

Races Through hardened at 850 deg C in protective atmosphere ,oil quenched-and tempered at 170 deg C to get Hardness HRC 62 to 64.
